UNKNOWN GUNMEN KILL TRADITIONAL RULER IN NJABA LGA OF IMO, DUMP HIS CORPSE AT THE MARKET SQUARE
Unknown gunmen have killed Edwin Azike, Traditional ruler of Atta Ancient Kingdom, in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State.
Sources say the Monarch’s corpse was discovered at the Market Square in the community on Friday morning after he was abducted on Thursday.
Reports indicate that four persons were shot dead in the community after the Monarch was abducted.
There has been a myriad of attacks on Monarchs in the South-East in recent weeks. On Thursday, Eons Intelligence reported that Unknown Gunmen kidnapped Damian Nwaigwe, the Traditional Ruler of Mbutu Kingdom in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
In October 2021, Eons Intelligence reported that IPOB militants set the palace of the traditional ruler of the Etekwuru community in the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State on fire. Also, his private car, a highlander jeep, and other property were razed during the attack.
