BANDITS KILL 23, INJURE SEVERAL OTHERS IN FRESH ATTACKS ON FIVE KADUNA LGAs
Bandits have killed at least 23 persons and injured many others in fresh attacks on five Local Government Areas in Kaduna State.
The attacks occurred barely 48 hours after 19 people were killed by bandits in Birnin Gwari and Kajuru Local Government areas of the State, Eons Intelligence reported.
In the latest attack, the affected local government areas are Chikun, Igabi, Giwa, Birnin Gwari all in Kaduna Central Zone and Kauru in the southern part of the state.
Confirming the incident in a statement on Tuesday,Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs explained that the attacks occurred in the last 24 hours.
According to him, 10 people were killed and three others were injured at Ungwan Gajere community of Kutemeshi ward of Birnin Gwari Local Government, while one person was shot dead between Sarkin Baka and Dankyawai village in Igabi Local Government Area.
In Giwa Local Government Area, armed bandits also invaded Janbaba village where they killed one Yakubu Sule, and in Kishisho village of Kauru Local Government, the gunmen suspected to be from a neighbouring state, killed five people.
Aruwan also disclosed that five other persons were killed by bandits at Gwagwada-Kasaya Community of Chikun Local Government Area, while another person was shot dead in Agwa village also in the same local government area.
Kaduna among other North Western States in Nigeria has suffered series of banditry attacks involving killings and abductions.
On 6th February 2021, six persons lost their lives while some others were left injured as bandits opened fire on commuters along Kaduna-Birnin road.
Similarly, on 31st January 2021, bandits attacked Garawa village in Giwa Local Government Area of the State and killed two residents in the process.
Also, on 29th January 2021, 12 persons were killed when bandits attacked Na’ikko village, Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
