COURT SENTENCE PROPHET TO 21 YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR RAPING TEEN.
The Chief Justice of Akwa Ibom State High Court, Justice Okon Okon, on Wednesday 1st March 2023 sentenced prophet Anwana Peter Essien, to 21 years in prison for raping a teen at his residence in Itiam Street, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The information available indicates that the mother of the 10-year-old girl took her and her younger sister to the prophet's residence for holiday on 9th August 2019 which the prophet later descended on her for unlawful carnal knowledge.

Meanwhile, the 37-year-old prophet of Restoration Bible Church, Itiam Street, Uyo, a native of Afaha Ise in Ibiono Ibom LGA, is also a stepfather to the said teenager he raped.
However, the convicted prophet confessed to having been pushed by demons to forcefully removed the clothes of his stepdaughter and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.
Hence, the Justice described the act as "bizarre and degrading” and therefore sentenced him to 21 years imprisonment.
