Nasarawa Governor Abdullahi Sule Dissolves State Executive Council, Sacks SSG

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has dismissed the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Muhammad Aliyu-Ubandoma, and dissolved the state executive council. This decision affects all commissioners, senior special advisers, special advisers, and personal assistants.

The announcement was made on Friday during an emergency executive meeting held at the Government House in Lafia, shortly after Vice President Kashim Shettima concluded his one-day visit to inaugurate state projects.

A senior government official, speaking anonymously, stated that while the exact reasons for the dissolution remain unclear, Governor Sule is known for administrative restructuring.

In a similar move in 2021, the governor dissolved the state executive council, citing the need for a more effective and efficient governance structure.

“As the situation develops, residents of Nasarawa State are eager for further clarification on the implications of this decision and the governor’s plans for the future direction of the administration,” the source added.
