NIGERIA, AFRICA TO GET COVID-19 VACCINES BY JANUARY-NGOZI OKONJO-IWEALA
Nigeria and other African countries would get access to COVID-19 vaccines from January through to the first quarter of 2021, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, former minister of finance assures.
A statement released by Nigeria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday said Okonjo-Iweala, who is currently the African Union Special Envoy on mobilizing international economic support for the continental fight against COVID-19, disclosed that the Pfizer vaccine and the Astrazeneca are currently being negotiated so that poor country would not have to stand in a queue behind rich countries.

"As long as one person has it in the world, no one is safe. And that is why poorer countries, lower middle-income countries like Nigeria, need to get it as quickly as possible," the statement quoted Okonjo-Iweala.
Recall Eons Intelligence reported that the UK has begun administering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine while the Israeli government received its first batch of the vaccine on Wednesday.
