OSIMHEN BECOMES AFRICA'S MOST EXPENSIVE PLAYER EVER AFTER NAPOLI MOVE
Victor Osimhen is now Africa's most expensive player of all time after sealing a sensational move from Lille to Italian outfit, Napoli.
The deal which had lingered for weeks finally fructified on Friday as the Nigerian forward joined Napoli for an initial €71.2M, according to French newspaper, L'Equipe.
However, a further €10.1M is guaranteed in add-ons, taking the overall fee to €81.3M.
Media outlets and journalists had been reporting the deal to be done but doubts were still in the minds of the football confraternity until Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentis, confirmed his arrival on his official Twitter handle.
The €71.2M plus add-ons paid by the Italian outfit surpassed the £72M Arsenal paid to land Nicolas Pele.
Recall that Osimhen replaced Pepe in Lille's attack after the Ivorian made his big money move to North London and recent FA Cup Winners, Arsenal.
The 21-year old Nigerian hitman would earn between €4M and €5.5M a year net without bonuses in Napoli - a huge wage increase from the €80,000 he was collecting monthly in France.
Also, Belgian side, Charleroi, Osimhen's former club, will receive €7M . The transfer as a sell-on percentage clause they inserted when he departed last summer.
