PREMIER LEAGUE CLUBS SET TO BEGIN PLAYERS PERMANENT PAY CUT
Premier League clubs have warned players that it might be forced to introduce permanent pay cut if the season which is slated to begin by July is terminated.
Following the global outbreak of COVID-19, the Premier League clubs have told their players that they might experience a pay cut due to financial implications of not restarting the season.
Already, some teams have told their key players that they are at possible risk of breaching contracts as it will not be able to pay if football does not return before the end of July.
Some clubs said some contracts will be tabled for negotiations, which might lead to decrease in earnings.
Some clubs will so away with long term contracts for certain players in their team and go for short term contracts, might be on a yearly basis.
Similarly, players have been told that peradventure football is not back and running by August 1, there would be no- footballing redundancies.
Reports indicate that some club staff with a year rolling deal are under threat of not having their deals reviewed or extended.
