TROOPS FOIL ATTACK IN ZANGON KATAF LGA OF KADUNA STATE, NAB ONE SUSPECT


Security Operatives have averted bloodshed in Zangon Kataf LGA of Kaduna State.

 

The troops of Operation Safe Haven on receiving an Intelligence report of the sporadic shootings by gunmen who invaded some fields in the Magamiya village promptly responded to the distress call, thereby averting tragedy by their alertness.

 

According to the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan in a statement on Wednesday, August 4, "Troops responded to a distress call, mobilized to the village and engaged the assailants, successfully repelling them. One of the attackers, identified as Yusuf Aliyu, was arrested by the troops and is in custody for interrogation and further investigation," he stated.

 

Meanwhile, a resident who was bruised on the arm by a stray bullet, Mr. Shedrach Yohanna is said to be in a stable condition at the hospital where he is receiving treatment.

The Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, while wishing Mr. Yohanna a speedy recovery, commended the troops of Operation Safe Haven for their diligence and promptness in averting tragedy.
