UNKNOWN GUNMEN STORM EBONYI COMMUNITY, KILL 17 RESIDENTS
Residents of Effium community, Ohaukwu LGA of Ebonyi State, mourn, as unknown gunmen launched an attack on the town, killing not less than 17 persons.
Eons Intelligence gathered that the attackers invaded the community on Saturday, shot sporadically, killing about 17 locals while many sustained injuries.
In the last month, there have been unprecedented attacks in Ebonyi State by unknown gunmen. On October 25, 2021, unknown gunmen, numbering about 35, attacked the police divisional headquarters at Uwana, Afikpo North LGA, in a midnight ambush, killing one policeman.
This was one week after unknown gunmen attacked a police station in Ohaukwu LGA of the State, setting police vans ablaze and freeing several detainees.
