RETURN LOOTED ITEMS WITHIN 72 HOURS - GOVERNOR OYETOLA WARNS HOODLUMS

Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has given a 72-hour ultimatum to the hoodlums who looted Government and Private assets to return the looted items.

The Governor threatened to make them face the wrath of the law if they fail to return the stolen items.

The Governor gave the order while speaking to newsmen on Sunday, October 25, during an assessment of some of the affected places.

Eons Intelligence, on October 23, reported that thugs broke into a warehouse in Abuloshun, and carted away electronic materials.

Similarly, on Thursday, October 22, armed hoodlums attacked a warehouse where COVID-19 palliatives are stored at Ede, Osun State and carted away some items.

Oyetola called on the hoodlums to surrender all looted items to security agencies, traditional rulers, local Government Chairmen and community heads in their respective areas.

He noted that those who refuse to surrender the items within the stipulated time would be tracked and brought to justice, while those who embrace it would be forgiven.

Governor Oyetola sympathised with the victims of the mayhem and also assured that the Government would support them.

He said: “What I witnessed here today is not a question of hoodlums, but armed robbers. They have removed all the machines here.

"It is very unfortunate. I can say categorically that #EndSARS protest is not what we are seeing here today. This is pure looting and it is all over.

"As a Government, we will look at the possible ways of bringing the victims back to life through our efforts and intervention of the Federal Government."
