POLICE FOIL BANDITS ATTACK IN ZAMFARA, RECOVER MILITARY UNIFORMS AND OTHER AMMUNITION

The Zamfara State Police command has foiled a bandits attack along Tsafe-funtua road in the State, recovering 14 motorcycles, military uniforms and explosives in the process.



The attack was repelled after security operatives received a distress call that bandits numbering about 100 had blocked the Tsafe – Funtua Road in Zamfara with the intention of robbing commuters.


Security operatives were deployed to the scene and they engaged the bandits in an intense gun duel.



Eons Intelligence gathered that the assailants fled into the bush with gunshot wounds and left 14 motorcycles with which they use in carrying out their nefarious operations, and other bags containing military uniforms and explosives.


Confirming the incident, the State's Police Commissioner, Abuto Yaro, said efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing bandits.
