UPDATE: LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESSWAY NOW FREE - FRSC
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos command, has told road users that the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway is free as crashed vehicles have been removed from the road.
Eons Intelligence earlier reported an accident that occurred on Kara Bridge along the highway in the earlier hours of Saturday, which was triggered by an explosion from a petrol-laden tanker.
Two persons were reported dead, while multiple vehicles were engulfed in the fire which started around 1am.

In a statement by the FRSC, the Commander of Lagos-Ibadan-Egbeda corridor, DCC Kehinde G Hamzat urged the general public not to panic as the road is now accessible.
The Corps said: "The crashed vehicles have been successfully removed from the road and all Obstructions cleared.

"The road has now been opened to use. For road users already on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway or intending users who have not explore alternative roads should please exercise caution and drive safe; avoid excessive speeding , avoid road rage and ultimately, avoid driving against the flow of traffic.
"FRSC wishes us safe journey to our various destination."
